Why We Are Called ''Jags Head Coffee''

On our oldest farm called “Loma de Paja” an ancient Mayan rock was found. This rock is over 3ft. tall and weighing 4 sacks of coffee (500lbs.). It forms part of a series of Mayan artifacts found in the region that are known to be called “Cabeza de Jaguar” in English it translates to “Jaguar Head”. The Jaguar in ancient Mesoamerican culture signifies power.

Local archeologist suggest these statues were made to honor Mayan kings. Archeologist have also stated the rock found on our farm is over 2300 years old. El Salvador has declared this finding as a national treasure of the countries heritage. At the left is an original picture of the rock where it was displayed for over 50 years.
